Cost of Liposuction

Cost of Liposuction
These days, cost is a big decision maker in all facets of life. As consumers, we want to know exactly what we are paying for, and we also want to get exactly what we are paying for. When it comes to liposuction, you want the best of the best. And with that, there will be great costs. This section will break down those costs and give you a better idea of what you’re paying for. Keep in mind that these are just averages and you would get a closer estimate after having a consultation with the surgeon of your choice.

Geographical location – this is an important factor when looking at cost for a liposuction procedure, and it is something you will have to check out for your area.

Facility fee – this cost can be anywhere from $600-$1,000.

Surgical cost – the surgical cost of course depends on the amount of experience the surgeon has, from which areas of the body you have fat removed, and how many areas from which you have fat removed. The average for one area of the body is $4,000; for three areas it is $6,000 to $8,000; for five areas it is $9,000 to $11,000. This can be more closely determined by looking at how big the area of the body is. For example, the cost of having liposuction on the abdomen is about twice as much as it would cost to have it on the outer thigh. Board certified surgeons will charge a higher fee, but you definitely want to consider the abilities of your surgeon before having the procedure done. You don’t want to take chances with this. It is always better to pay a little more (and get a little more), than end up with a surgeon who is only average in what they do.

Anesthesia cost – depending on the area of your body you have done, you will get general or local anesthesia. Obviously, local anesthesia would cost less, so if you opt for that, you could save big bucks in this department. Anesthesia costs can range from $500-$1,000.
